Infinitely more important than adding a dollar or two to one’s bottom line is the confident answer to this ultimate question: Where will you spend eternity? (Revelation 20:14-15 KJV) Sin — the transgression of God’ laws — puts a wedge between us and a Holy God. Sin can not stand in His presence. Sin demands a penalty. Often we see the results of sin in the fruit of a person’s life. As tragic as these consequences can be, the ultimate penalty for sin is eternal separation from God in a place of eternal torment called “Hell.” We are born with a sin nature. Good acts do not cancel the penalty of sin and there is no statute of limitations in which sin’s penalty expires. We are all subject to the penalties of our sins. Jesus: The Escape Clause from Sin And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. (John 3:16-17, NLT) Jesus came to Earth so that He could show humanity how to live life to the fullest by enjoying an intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father. In order to do that, He had to pay the full price of humanity’s sin by dying a sacrificial, substitutionary death. His excruciating death offers a reprieve to all who are willing Him as Lord and savior. Jesus: Come Unto Me Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28, NLT) All whom My Father gives (entrusts) to Me will come to Me; and the one who comes to Me I will most certainly not cast out [I will never, no never, reject one of them who comes to Me]. (John 6:37, AMP) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13, KJV) The plan of salvation is a lifetime offer that he extends to EVERYONE. It does not matter what you’re background is or what you’ve done or … [insert condition here]. As long as you draw a breath, you can accept Jesus as your savior and escape the eternal sentence of Hell while enjoying a personal relationship with Him. However, we are not given the promise of tomorrow. There is no better decision you will EVER make and no better time to make it than RIGHT NOW. For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, NOW is the time of God’s favor, NOW is the day of salvation. (II Corinthians 6:2, NIV, Emphasis mine) Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14, NIV) Repentance & Confession: Your Keys to the Kingdom 9That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (Romans 10:9-10, NIV) OK, so you see the need for a Savior and no time like the present. Now what? Simply pray to God — and mean it! — that you accept his gift of salvation and invite Him to enter your life. If you don’t know how, say something like this … Lord, I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He came to Earth to pay the price for sin — my sin — with His blood. I acknowledge my sin and ask that You come into my life, forgive my sin, become Lord of my life and help me become the victorious person that you’ve intended from the very beginning. I ask you that you counsel me through your Holy Spirit to show me how I should live. I give my life to you. Thank you so much for your love and your priceless gift of eternal life.
