If you — or anyone — desire success in this world, you will have to nurture relationships with other inhabitants of this planet. The Lord has set it up so that you can not make it on your own. Making money, for example, involves the exchange of goods and services between people and/or institutions (groups of people).
There will come a day when the Master will return! What will we have to show for it when he does? One metric that will be used to evaluate our service to Him is our handling of His tangible blessings to us. Note that the Master commends his servants as “good and faithful”. Their fidelity in their stewardship led to their successful results.
There will come a time when we will “pay the piper” as the fable goes. However, this is no fable! One of the very last verses in the Bible testifies that the Lord is coming. He could come any time now. And when he does come, we will all have to give an account of what he has done with what he has given us. An IRS audit will be trivial by comparison.
